Davide Franceschetti Born in Italy in 1976, Davide Franceschetti began studying piano at the age of seven, and since the age of ten has been a pupil of Franco Scala, first at the Conservatoire in Pesaro, then at the Piano Academy 'Incontri col Maestro' in Imola, Italy. He won the Silver Medal at the Leeds International Piano Competition 2000 following his performance of Brahms Piano Concerto No 1 with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. He previously won first prize in the GPA Dublin International Piano Competition in 1994 at the age of eighteen, and as a result embarked on a series of concerts and recitals worldwide. These included his debuts in London at the Wigmore Hall in November 1995, and in New York City in March 1996, as well as tours in the US and Hawaii. Other recital engagements include performances in Salt Lake City, Washington DC, in Vienna, at the Festival de Brignoles in France, the Festival of Great Irish Houses, in Finland at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and in Leeds at the City Art Gallery.
