Belfast Music Society presents
The City Waites
on period instruments
'How the World Wags' - popular music and
song from the taverns, theatres, streets and
countryside of 17th Century England.
Lucie Skeaping, Douglas
Wootton, Michael Brain
and Roddy Skeaping
perform a mix of high-
speed medieval dances
played on rebecs, lute
and hurdy-gurdy with
drinking songs, rounds,
foot-tapping dance
tunes and some of the
most colourful ballads
heard on the Restoration
stage. This is sure to
be a riot of period
instruments with four
lusty voices.
Replaces the previously
advertised concert with
Christopher Maltman and
Andrew Smith which has
been re-scheduled for the
2002/2003 season.
