bos Belfast Music Society The new Season 80TH BIRTHDAY SEASON A lovely story, dating from the 1940s and sent in by one of our supporters, sums up for me the mix which makes chamber music concerts in Belfast so memorable. She said, "I recall being in the Great Hall at Queen's University, listening to a recital by the great violist Lionel Tertis. He was playing the Bach 'Chaconne' from memory, as you would expect-and we heard a woman behind us whisper quite audibly to her friend 'He's makin' it up as he goes along!" Please join us as we celebrate our 80th birthday season. The Birthday Concert on Saturday 10 November will be back in the Great Hall, by the way. I hope that you'll enjoy the wide variety of artists and music that we are bringing to Belfast- all playing from memory of course!
