Since then the group has flourished. Onyx Brass has given recitals and masterclasses all over the country including a triumphant Wigmore Hall début. Audiences and critics have been particularly appreciative of the warmth of the group's sound and their presentation of a wide range of music. Andreas Boyde (piano) BEETHOVEN Sonata in C, Op.2 No. 3 The group's first CD, 'Trisagion', comprising exclusively world premiere recordings, (on Intim Musik IMCD 058), was released in 1998 to high critical acclaim: "A warm bonfires-and-Hovis-sound" Evening Standard "Superbly played... this CD is a must" British Trombone Soc. After two sensational appearances in the Munich Philharmonic Hall the Süddeutsche Zeitung proclaimed Andreas Boyde as a "very mature musician with a remarkable sense of sound and harmony, strength and brilliant octaves". Born in Oschatz, Germany, Andreas Boyde has played with many renowned orchestras including the Dresden State Orchestra and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. In 1993 he represented Germany in a European concert as part of the Piano Festival La Roque d'Antheron in France and gave his debut at Zurich Tonhalle in 1994. He gave his South American debut in the summer of 1996 and in autumn 1997 toured with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra in Cologne and Stuttgart. In 1998 he gave the European premiere of the Piano Concerto Four Parables by Paul Schoenfield with the Dresdner Sinfoniker.
