ed Priest
(Recorders, baroque violin and 'cello harpsichord)
Described in Gramophone as "the UK's most dynamic, theatrical
and outrageously different baroque ensemble", Red Priest
has given over 60 concerts in its first two seasons. Red Priest's
debut CD, "Priest on the Run", has been broadcast several
times on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, and received rave
reviews: "The effect is like crossing a Wigmore Hall recital
with a Guinness-soaked session in an Irish bar... highly
competent and infectiously different." "Faint hearts should
prepare themselves..." (BBC Music Magazine).
I Fagiolini
I Fagionlini first came to national prominence in 1989 by winning
the Early Music Network's Young Artists' Competition and
have since travelled to much of Europe.
Other recordings to hit the stands are The Caged Byrd (following
on from The Early Byrd in their Chandos Byrd series) and All
the King's Horses, the sequel to All the King's Men (editor's
choice in March's Gramophone) and their series of early
Renaissance secular recordings for Metronome.
