Introduction Once again BMS has arranged an interesting and varied programme of artists and music for 1996-1997. These are pianists Peter Donohoe and Young-Choon Park, guitarist Julian Bream, the Emperor String Quartet, the Lowbury Piano Trio, Fretwork with countertenor Robin Blaze (in association with Belfast Festival at Queen's), London Winds directed by Michael Collins, and tenor Ian Bostridge accompanied by Roger Vignoles. Five of these concerts will be held at the Elmwood Hall and three at the new Waterfront 'Studio'. Please note that the ticket prices for these two venues differ. The changing nature of our audience in the past few years has at last laid to rest the myth that the BMS is a form of private music club. All BMS concerts are open to everyone. In our 76th year we hope that the artists will receive the public support they so richly deserve and that our audiences will enjoy what promises to be one of our most exciting seasons of Celebrity Concerts.
