Maxwell Davies has been involved with education throughout his life, so it is fitting that a local children's choir should be involved in performing the 'Kirkwall Shopping Songs', a lovely set he wrote for primary school children on Orkney.

They have established themselves as one of the most exciting string quartets on the international scene and enjoy a busy career world- wide. They have made a number of recordings which have received wide acclaim in the musical press. Concert C TASMIN LITTLE - violin MARTIN ROSCOE - piano Saturday 11th February, 1995 at 7.30 pm Programme: Sonata in B flat K454 Sonata The Fountains of Anethusa Sonata No. 3 in D Minor Mozart Dohnanyi Szymanowski Brahms Tasmin Little and Martin Roscoe will need no introduction to Belfast audiences who have heard them play with the Ulster Orchestra. Tasmin Little is ranked very highly in the profession and has a wide-ranging repertoire of over 30 concertos. Concert E CHANDOS BAROQUE PLAYERS Saturday 1st April, 1995 at 7.30 pm Maya Homburger 4 Rachel Beckett David Watkin Malcolm Proud violin flute/recorder 'cello harpsichord The Chandos Baroque Players will present works by Henry Purcell, his brother Daniel and contemporaries such as Bach, Handel and Corelli to celebrate the Tercentenary (1695-1995) of Henry Purcell. Each of the artists appearing specialises in music of this period and performs with such groups as the Academy of Ancient Music and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. They are led by Malcolm Proud, who was born in Dublin and now lives in Kilkenny. Amongst her teachers is leading guitar player John Williams.
