This is a special concert to mark the 60th birthday of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies,
President of the National Federation of Music Societies of which the BMS is a
member. Maxwell Davies has been involved with education throughout his life, so it
is fitting that a local children's choir should be involved in performing the 'Kirkwall
Shopping Songs', a lovely set he wrote for primary school children on Orkney.
