A student of the Royal College of Music in London, and the Franz
Liszt Academy in Budapest, Julia Cload has won awards from the
Arts Council, British Council and Hungarian Government, as well
as several major prizes. Her recent concerts throughout the British
Isles and on the Continent have included frequent recorded per-
formances, particularly for BBC Television and Radio.. Miss
Cload's debut London recital at the Wigmore Hall, subsequent
recitals for the Kirckman Society on the South Bank, and for
Bishopsgate Series, were received with enormous success. Similar
acclaim has been given to her further London appearances, which
last year included the opening recitals of the London Mozart
Festival at St. John's, Smith Square, sponsored by the Austrian
Embassy. She has also given numerous performances with major
British Orchestras.

temporary. They are also specialists in the relatively unknown field
of English Classical songs.
During the 1980 season The Scholars have tours of Norway, Japan,
Austria, America, Australia and New Zealand as well as a series

SYLVIA ROSENBERG (Violin)
CRAIG SHEPPARD (Piano)
New York born, Sylvia Rosenberg has performed with all the major
orchestras of the USA and Europe and toured extensively in the
Far East, Australia and New Zealand. She has recently returned
from an extensive recital and concert tour of Australia and Italy.
Besides a busy concert schedule she finds time to give master-
classes in musical centres throughout the British Isles. Miss Rosen-
berg graduated from the Juilliard School of Music and has worked
with Nadia Boulanger, Szyman Goldberg and Ivan Galamian.
Craig Sheppard is making a welcome return to the BMS. He was
born in Philadelphia. He also studied at the Juilliard School.
During the summers of 1969 and 1970 Mr. Sheppard participated
in the Marlboro Festival in Vermont. The influence of Rudolf
Serkin and Pablo Casals strengthened the roots of his love for
chamber music, a love which also extends to the lieder repertoire.
He has frequently appeared in recitals with well-known singers
and chamber artists. His support and sensitivity to these artists
has always met with the greatest critical acclaim.
In 1971 he was the winner of the coveted Dealey Award in Dallas.
In 1972 he took second prize in the International Leeds Competi-
tion in England. Since then, his career has taken him to four
continents including many of the major capitals of Europe.
